Gifting Made Easy with

Hello people. The temperature in Pune is more than 40 degrees and I don’t feel like going out in the morning because my skin literally starts burning the moment  I step out of my house. But I have to step out anyway because WORK!!  Stuck between work pressure and surprising the guy, I decided to order something for him online. While browsing, I came across this online gifting website called I found the website really cool.

About: On researching further I got to know that is one of India’s largest online gifts store founded in 2001, specializing in gifts for all ages and occasions. It is one of the oldest, largest and most experienced online gifting company in India which ships orders to 150+ countries (including USA, UK, Australia, Canada etc) and 7,000+ pin codes in India.

My Experience: The website gives option to choose gifts by category like flowers, personalized gifts, cakes, hampers etc along with option to gift by occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, mothers day gifts or by recipients like gits for mom, gifts for dad, gifts for teens etc which makes it easier to filter and shortlist products as per your preference. The website has various gifting options for different budgets. Another wonderful feature of IGP is that you can buy gifts according to people’s personality like gifts for geek teens or gits for romantic men.

Since there was no special reason or occasion for me to gift, I went ahead to explore the gourmets section  which again had sub-categories. I picked up a combo hamper of Danish Butter Cookies with Blueberry Intense Lindt Bar.

I picked up another gift while browsing their online gift store, which was a Happy Love Figurative Couple. The combo hamper reached next day of placing the order, the packing was good but what disappointed me was that the cookies were almost nearing their expiry date and didn’t tasted too well. The chocolate however was good. The showpiece came two days later and to my surprise I found the size much bigger than my expectation and oh my! the couple looked so cute.

I also added a personal note which did not got delivered with any of the gifts, sadly. My guy was definitely happy with this sudden surprise gifts. It was overall a pleasant experience and with the upcoming occasions this year, I am definitely going to purchase from them again.

Pros: 1. Easy to use website

2. Lots of gifting categories to choose from

3. Gift for every budget

4. Fast delivery

Cons:  1. Edible items must be checked for expiry dates

2. More care must be taken to add little details like personalized notes, special requests (if any).

Rating: 3.5/5

Final Verdict:I’ll recommend everyone to try for gifting your near and dear ones for any occasion.

Restaurant Review: My Experience at T.G.I. Friday’s, Pune

What do you do when you are bored with the regular “Desi Khana” and want to have something different, something that is not so “Desi”? You list down the best restaurants in town that serves anything other than “Desi Food” and start planning to visit those places ASAP. So, last Sunday after a cancelled movie date in Season’s Mall, Pune, with nothing to do in hand, me my guy decided to have lunch somewhere nearby. This is when we came across TGI Fridays which is located at the 3rd floor of that very mall. My guy told me that the restaurant serves good American food and because I wanted to take a break from the regular “Desi Khana”, we both decided to give it a try.

What: T.G.I. Friday’s

Where: Seasons Mall, 3rd Floor, Magarpatta City, Pune

Pocket Pinch for 2: 2400 approximately (without alcohol)

Timings: 12 PM-12 AM

Must Try Dishes: Don’t forget to try out the newly launched “Born in the USA” Platters.

My experience: As we went in we were greeted by the manager Mr. Sumit who asked us where we wanted to get seated. There were both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements with separate smoking zone. We decided to sit outdoor because the weather was lovely. Few minutes later a guy came to us and introduced himself. He gave us the menu book and we decided to start with the cocktails. We ordered an “Ultimate Mojito” and a “Classic Signature Mojito”. Both the drinks had a perfect combination of lemon juice and soda topped with fresh mint leaves and ice cubes. The drinks were very refreshing.

Classic Signature Mojito

For starters, we ordered “Half Roasted Cayenne Pepper Chicken”. The chicken pieces were well seasoned with different herbs and spices and was roasted to perfection with the cayenne pepper adding a spicy twist to the dish. It was served with crispy French fries along with a side of sweet pineapple sauce.

Half Roasted Cayenne Pepper Chicken

The chicken was roasted to perfection from outside while the inside was quite tender and juicy. The sweetness of the pineapple sauce complimented well with the spiciness of the cayenne pepper chicken. We also ordered “Ultimate Friday’s Nachos”. The Nachos were crisp garnished with fresh veggies and cheese, topped with a dollop of sour cream. We found its taste to be bland. However. the dish looked great.

Ultimate Friday’s Nachos

Moving on, we ordered “Chicken Caesar Salad” which had shredded chicken tossed in tangy Caesar sauce and fresh Lettuce with a garnishing of Parmesan cheese served with  side of bread toast.

Chicken Caesar Salad

To quench our thirst, we ordered another round of cocktails. This time, I decided to go with “Ultimate Margarita” for me which was a regular margarita topped with fresh-cut lime and orange. The drink had excess lime which turned it very sour in taste. The guy ordered “Bourbon Smash”. The Bourbon Smash was a combination of Jack Daniels and cranberry juice, topped with lots of crushed ice, fresh lime and mint leaves.

Left: Ultimate Margarita                                                              Right: Bourbon Smash

Finally, it was time for the main course, first we ordered “Crispy Jalapeno Stuffed Chicken”. It came with crispy fried chicken topped with Jalapeno with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli au gratin. Though the chicken was quite crispy from outside but on the inside, it wasn’t so appetizing.

Crispy Jalapeno Stuffed Chicken

So, for the next order, we decided to give a break to chicken dishes and ordered “Alfredo Garden Fresh Pizza” which was the only veg item that we had there.  I personally loved the crispy thin crust pizza which came with lots of cheese topping with finely sliced zucchini, chopped chillies, basil and olives.

Alfredo Garden Fresh Pizza

Next, we ordered a dish from their seafood menu, it was “Almond Crusted Fish and Jalapeno Shrimps”. This was my favourite dish among all. It came with almond crusted crispy sole fish fillet served with flavoured rice and a side of sautéed shrimp in a gravy of creamy jalapeno, garlic, red pepper and lemon-butter sauce.

Almond Crusted Fish and Jalapeno Shrimps, my favorite!

Next it was time for the much-awaited dish, which Mr. Sumit and other staffs of TGI Friday’s recommended us. It was a dish from the newly launched “Born in the USA” menu. There were 3 platters on offer: “the Boss Platter”, “Chesapeake Bay Seafood Platter” and “the Texas Platter”. We ordered the “Texas Platter” and no doubt it was huge.

Presenting: The Texas Platter!!

The platter consisted of Bacon wrapped in Shrimps in skewers, juicy sliced Fajita Tenderloin and fried chicken steak in country gravy served with garlic bread, corn cob with sides of TGIF signature sauces and Cajun Onion rings. One such platter can easily serve 3-4 people and the pocket pinch is between 1-2k which means when you go in a group of 4-5 people, it won’t be very heavy on the pocket but it’ll surly satisfy your hunger.

A meal is incomplete without deserts. So, we ordered a “Mini Dessert Platter” consisting of mini delights of Chocolate Oreo, Mocha Latte, Snickers Treat, Strawberry Parfait and Tropical Delight.

Mini Dessert Platter

To end with we ordered “Pineapple Rum Cheesecake”. The cake was baked to perfection from outside giving it a slightly crisp outer coating and as we spooned in, the pineapple flavoured cheesecake literally oozed out.

Pineapple Rum Cheesecake

After the cake, we had no place in our tummy accommodate any more food. We decided to ask Mr. Sumit to take us for a tour around the restaurant. Though it was a Sunday afternoon, we could see a lot of people coming in. Check out the pictures below to have an idea about the place.

The Decor

We really liked the funky décor of the place. It was a Sunday well spent and we are looking forward to another visit there soon.

Rating: 4/5

Final Verdict: We loved most of the dishes that we had there, right from the starters to the lip smacking desserts.  The service was also prompt. We’d definitely recommend everyone to check out this place and try out the variety of dishes on offer if you haven’t already. T.G.I. Friday’s, has 11 restaurants in India operating from noon to midnight, so come in anytime in between.

*I was invited by the restaurant to try out their food menu, however, my views expressed here are honest and unbiased*

Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream Review, Price and Usage

As a kid, I have often seen my mother applying foot care cream and wondered whether it is really something worth investing for. I have seen my mother suffering from cracked heels, no matter how much she tried to avoid it by through her natural remedies. At last, only a good foot care cream would come to her rescue. I would always ask her why don’t she get pedicure done regularly. Now that I’m almost in my mid twenties, I can understand how cracked heels can be painful and ugly, visiting a salon for pedi-mani hardly happens once in 3-4 months  for me.

Our feet are one of the most neglected part of our body. This is the second time, when I’m suffering from cracked heels. I didn’t go for any home remedies apart from wearing socks most of the time. As I was looking for some magical remedy for my cracked heels, my mother recommended me to use Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream.

After a little research online, I decided to give it a try. I have been using it for the sixth week now and I think it’s time when I share my views about the product in this post. Read to know more about Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream:

Price: INR 110 for 50g

Shelf Life: 3 years from the date of manufacture
Ingredients: Himalaya’s Foot Care Cream cares for your cracked heels and rough feet with natural ingredients. Enriched with the goodness of Honey, Turmeric, Fenugreek seeds and Sal Tree extract, this cream leaves your feet feeling soft in one week.
  • Sal Tree extract is used as an ingredient in ointments for skin diseases and in ear medicines. Its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties help heal cracked heels.
  • Honey, with its bactericidal and antiseptic properties, is extremely important in Ayurveda. Used in a variety of medicines, honey is also an effective moisturizing agent.
  • Turmeric has been used as an antiseptic for centuries. The herb also contains strong anti-inflammatory properties, which soothe your feet gently.
  • Fenugreek has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicines and is an excellent moisturizer, specially formulated to hydrate dry skin. Applied externally, the herb is also beneficial for boils, abscesses and ulcers.
  • Ginger is used externally as a local circulatory stimulant which keeps the feet warm, preventing the skin from cracking due to the cold.

Directions for Use: Wash feet with lukewarm water and pat dry. Apply the required quantity of the Foot Care Cream over the affected area twice daily, once in the morning after bathing and again at bedtime

My take on the product:The Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream comes in a handy packaging. The cream comes in white tube with a dark green lid, it is easy to carry around in bag and application never gets messy. The cream has a mild fragrance which doesn’t bother my rather sensitive nose. The cream is lightweight and hence the application gets super easy.
The cream blends in my feet easily and it doesn’t feel sticky at all. I apply the Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream at night before going to bed. I wash my feet with warm water and  pat dry followed by applying this cream on my feet. When I started using it, my feet was in extremely bad condition but after regular application for a week, I could feel that the cracks have almost healed and my feet felt softer than before. I’m really happy with the result and I’ll stick to this cream every time I’ll get cracked feet.
Pros: 1. Herbal product
2. Mild fragrance
3. Non greasy
4. Lightweight
5. Hydrating
6. Heals and repairs cracked feet as per claim
7. Easily available
8. Affordable
Cons: Contains paraben, but that’ quite common for almost all types of creams, isn’t it?
Rating: 4.5/5
Final Verdict: I’ll recommend Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream to everyone who is looking for an affordable cream to heal  cracked heels. The product does work wonderfully without going heavy on pockets.

Dear Blog,Happy 3rd Birthday……

Hello people…. I can’t believe I’m writing a blog post right now! As I check my blog every now and then, a sense of guilt engulfs me. I have been away too long, my sincere apologies to all my readers. The last time I wrote a post was around 3 months back. I was away all this time because I got busy with some personal work. I shifted to Pune from Kolkata, back in September, with a new job. All these time, I was trying to fit myself in the city, discover new places and make friends. Though I haven’t learnt much of Marathi yet, I’m already in love with the Pune weather!! I have a tight schedule on weekdays and on weekends I usually out to discover wonderful places in the city. I really felt guilty for not finding out time to blog, something that I’m passionate about.I would come back home dead-tired and doze off to sleep, I couldn’t write even though I wished to.

Three birthday cupcakes

As my blog turns 3 today, I can say that I have got a lot because of my blog. I made so many blogger-friends, went to blogger meets and events, participated in blogging campaigns and every experience have been great. Since I was almost completely detached from blogging for a while, I’m yet to add bloggers buddies from Pune, so if any one of you reading this post today happens to be from Pune, do drop in a line and we can meet over a cup of “cutting chai” and a plate of “vada pav”.

Since I have a full-time job and few other commitments here and there, it might be slightly difficult for me to blog very often but I’ll do keep blogging, that’s for sure. Talking about blogging, that reminds me that I haven’t bought any makeup product since last 2 months and I really don’t know whether I should feel happy or sad about it. Well, that gives me a chance to save few bucks and get myself a MAC lippie that I have dreamed to buy since I ever got addicted to makeup. I hope I can buy one soon and review it here.

FYI, just because some of you might be wondering when my next post will be up, let me tell you that I have already started drafting it and it will be up this weekend!A big thanks to everyone who read and comment on my blog posts, your support have helped me a lot to continue blogging despite of all odds. Keep giving all the love and support and have a fabulous weekend…. Thank God It’s Friday!!!!

VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal Review, Price & Swatches

Hello girls, I hope you are doing well. Lately, due to work pressure in my office, I could hardly find time to blog and secondly, my  makeup these days is limited to kajal, lip balm and BB cream only. The only good thing that is happening is that I’m trying out different kajals for my eyes. I’m not very particular about brands these days when it comes to kajal, but I’m always in search of a decent kajal that gives me a smudge-free look without touch ups to survive during my office hours for days when I don’t get time to leave my workstation for a quick break.

Currently, I have been using the VLCC Enchanting Eyes kajal and I’m loving it so much that I decided to write a post about it.  I have used VLCC products before and I always had a bittersweet experience with them. As far as the kajal is concerned, this is the best  product I’ve used so far from VLCC. Read on to know why…

Price: INR 199 for 0.3 g

Product description:VLCC’s Enchanting Eyes Kajal will create a dark, intense line for dramatic eyes. It is smudge-proof and waterproof, which makes it last long. The kajal is dermatologically-tested and enriched with botanical extracts and comes in an easy-to-use retractable stick format.

My take on the product: The kajal comes in a retractable black pen like packaging with a golden rim in the middle. The packaging  ensures minimum product wastage and makes it easy to carry around. The price is decent and affordable too. Coming to the consistency, the kajal is soft and thus it can glide on very smoothly, it is easy to apply both on the waterline and on the eyelids. The shade is very dark and a single swipe is enough to give you beautiful looking kohl-rimmed eyes. The kajal can stay up to 5-6 hours after which it needs a minor touch up, however, this works much better than kajals from other drugstore brands.

Ir didn’t smudge or started to fade away when I accidentally washed my face once, which is why I’m loving it so much. I didn’t feel any irritation or watering after applying it daily, for a week which is why I believe that it is safe to use for all.The kajal can be removed with a makeup remover easily.

Pros: 1. Value for money

2. Easy to apply

3. Smudge proof

4. Doesn’t irritate eyes

5. Water proof

6. Gives the darkest black color

Cons: I wish they came up with a bit colorful packaging

Rating: 4.5/5

Recommendation: The back of the VLCC Enchanting Eyes kajal has tutorial for 4 different looks which you can try as per your choice. I think this is one of the best drugstore kajal available in Indian market and every girl who is looking for a everyday kajal, can definitely go for this one!

My Shopping Experience at

Hello girls, it’s been a long time since my last post. I haven’t been much active on social media too. The reason is I shifted to Pune recently and it is a wonderful place. I was really busy with packing, booking tickets, finding a flat to stay etc. Today, I can finally sit down with a cup of coffee and blog. For someone like me, who wait for weekends to come so that I could sleep the whole day, going out to  shop seems like a big task too, no matter whether I need to shop groceries or something of my interest, like clothes and makeup. Thank god, online shopping is just the right thing for a girl like me.

Recently, I came across this website called where you can find online beauty products from a number of local as well as international brands. Aplava is a Bangalore based website.  According to them, “Aplava derives its name from Sanskrit origins. Aplava (pronounced “AAp luv” in original Sanskrit) means taking a bath to purify oneself. It’s an ablution process of cleansing oneself. Just as the name suggests, Aplava wants to give its customers an experience of divine purity. Beauty is you!”

Let us see how my shopping experience with Aplava was. I’ll be giving my views in relation to various segments and procedure of my shopping .

  • Navigation: Aplava has a fairly simple website, easy to navigate and shop online. There are number of local and international brands to shop from. You can shop category wise from the drop down menu at the top where the navigation bar is located. You can also directly search for a product by typing its name at the search bar.
  • Registration: Creating an account is super easy, once your account is created by filling in your personal details, you can take the personal profile quiz to help the site recommend products based on your needs and preferences
  • Ordering Procedure: The ordering procedure is also easy, choose the products and add them to the cart, fill in the address details and make the payment via Debit card/ Credit card/ Net Banking or by opting for cash on delivery. I ordered two products-

  1. Faces Magnetic Eyes Kajal
  2. Vichy Normaderm Night Detox Cream

This cream is one of the best face cream for women with dark spots on face.

    • Delivery: The delivery process was very smooth. The products got delivered in less than a week’s time and the packaging was very good too. Overall I was happy that I got both the products unhampered and securely packed.

    1. Easy navigation
    2. Easy to place order
    3. Multiple payment options
    4. Fast delivery
    5. Personalized shopping facility that helps you by suggesting beat products for your skin type
    6. A huge number of international brands are in store

Cons: I wish they include some more local brands

    Rating: 4.5/5

Recommendation: You must obviously go for this new beauty and wellness destination and don’t forget to check out their wide range of products from international brands that are otherwise hard to find in local beauty stores.

    Common skin problems in monsoon!!

Monsoon brings a sigh of relief after the scorching summer heat. Monsoon means long drive with our loved ones or sitting by the window with our favorite book and a cup of hot cappuccino.  Whether it’s a light drizzle or heavy rainfall, monsoon makes up happy. But good things also come with side effects. The humidity in monsoon is the cause for various skin problems.  The humidity in air creates an ideal temperature for various bacterial and fungal infections. Apart from this, poor hygiene is another reason. Many of us skip regular showers in monsoon, wear clothes that are damp or wear clothes that do not allow the skin to breathe. Below mentioned is a list of common skin problems in monsoon and ways to prevent them:

    • Allergies: Allergies can occur due to multiple reasons. Allergies can affect any part of the body. They usually occur as tiny eruptions and are itchy. Allergies are generally cured through Antihistamines; however it is necessary to find out the underlying cause for proper treatment.  It is necessary to shower regularly and wear cotton clothes to avoid further irritation.
    • Psoriasis: A long lasting autoimmune disease often characterized by red scaly skin. It causes painful skin lesions. Contact a dermatologist as soon as you see the symptoms to undergo psoriasis therapy. Make sure to keep your skin dry and avoid moisture build up in skin folds.
    • Infections: Bacterial and fungal infections are very common in monsoon. The humid weather provides the perfect temperature for these microorganisms to thrive. Taking regular showers, using clean and dry clothes and maintaining proper hygiene is necessary in order to prevent infections.  Severe fungal or bacterial infections can lead to rise in body temperature which can be cured with proper medications

    • Patchy skin: Monsoon causes a lot of skin problems like dry and patchy skin. Skin dryness can lead to uneven complexion. It is necessary to keep skin moisturized and drink a lot of water. Contact a dermatologist and undergo skin rejuvenation treatments, for dark spots and uneven tone, laser surgery and laser skin resurfacing can be very helpful.
    •  Excessive sweating: Excessive sweating is a common skin problem that can occur in monsoon. To avoid excessive sweating use a good antiperspirant.  Shower regularly and wear light weight clothes. Avoid sweat build up and try to remain fresh all the time.

Follow these simple remedies to keep skin problems at bay during monsoon. Consult a doctor if you see any kind of skin problems occurring.

A Guide To Purchasing Office Wears Kurti

A salute to the Indian traditional dressing, the Indian Kurti, that has come up a long way to become the ideal & the most popular outfit for every girl. Be it any occasion,  Kurti for girls is the best to wear. With many styles and design it offers, it is the ideal choice for your casual as well as formal events. However, the choice of the kurti for casual & formal events must be entirely different. This is essential to ensure that you do not make fun of yourself by wearing the wrong type to the right place.

Buying a casual kurti is easy as all you need to do is let your selection follow your choice. However, while buying a kurti for your office you need to take care of many things. An office is a place which demands following the decorum of the workplace hence, one must ensure that the appearance must not make you a defaulter. To ensure that you land up most stylish and formal to your workplace, here is the Guide to purchasing office wearing Kurti:

    • Color: The first and foremost thing you must keep in your mind is the color of the women’s kurti online. The color of your outfit is the first thing that strikes the viewer. We are pretty much sure that you do not want to be perceived too bold or too colorful at your workplace. To ensure that your first impression comes out to be the best choose sober and cool colors for your office wear. You can try pastel colors as they are very much into the trends.

    • Fabric: Cotton, polyester, khaddar & georgette are a few types of fabrics that are the best for office wear. These fabrics give you a trendy & formal look. A cotton women’s kurti paired with cigarette pants and flat sandals for women might be the best choice for your formal look at your office.

    • Design: The market of girl’s kurti is daily reloaded with awesome new designs. But it is not necessary that all of them are suitable to be worn to your workplace. You must wear designer kurtis to your office but ensure that the design suits the corporate measures and make you elegantly dressed. You can try wearing Long sleeves kurti, Sherwani style kurti, Front slit kurti and 111many other styles to your office.

    • Length & fitting: Do not wear too long or too short kurti to your office. This may not only make you uncomfortable but also make your appearance inappropriate in a formal setup. Wear kurtis with the length that complements your body type and at the same time make you go with the trends. Likewise wearing a tight or too loose girl’s kurti will also give you a shabby appearance.

    • Simplicity is the best: Last but not the least; try to buy kurtis that are simple. Too much embellishments or embroidery might make a formal kurti look too gaudy. Whereas with a simple kurti with minimalistic embroidery and a beautiful design you can make striking appearance at your workplace.
