Hello people. The temperature in Pune is more than 40 degrees and I don’t feel like going out in the morning because my skin literally starts burning the moment  I step out of my house. But I have to step out anyway because WORK!!  Stuck between work pressure and surprising the guy, I decided to order something for him online. While browsing, I came across this online gifting website called igp.com. I found the website really cool.

My Experience: The website gives option to choose gifts by category like flowers, personalized gifts, cakes, hampers etc along with option to gift by occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, mothers day gifts or by recipients like gits for mom, gifts for dad, gifts for teens etc which makes it easier to filter and shortlist products as per your preference. The website has various gifting options for different budgets. Another wonderful feature of IGP is that you can buy gifts according to people’s personality like gifts for geek teens or gits for romantic men.

Since there was no special reason or occasion for me to gift, I went ahead to explore the gourmets section  which again had sub-categories. I picked up a combo hamper of Danish Butter Cookies with Blueberry Intense Lindt Bar.

I picked up another gift while browsing their online gift store, which was a Happy Love Figurative Couple. The combo hamper reached next day of placing the order, the packing was good but what disappointed me was that the cookies were almost nearing their expiry date and didn’t tasted too well. The chocolate however was good. The showpiece came two days later and to my surprise I found the size much bigger than my expectation and oh my! the couple looked so cute.

I also added a personal note which did not got delivered with any of the gifts, sadly. My guy was definitely happy with this sudden surprise gifts. It was overall a pleasant experience and with the upcoming occasions this year, I am definitely going to purchase from them again.

Restaurant Review: My Experience at T.G.I. Friday’s, Pune

What do you do when you are bored with the regular “Desi Khana” and want to have something different, something that is not so “Desi”? You list down the best restaurants in town that serves anything other than “Desi Food” and start planning to visit those places ASAP. So, last Sunday after a cancelled movie date in Season’s Mall, Pune, with nothing to do in hand, me my guy decided to have lunch somewhere nearby. This is when we came across TGI Fridays which is located at the 3^rd floor of that very mall. My guy told me that the restaurant serves good American food and because I wanted to take a break from the regular “Desi Khana”, we both decided to give it a try.

What: T.G.I. Friday’s

Where: Seasons Mall, 3rd Floor, Magarpatta City, Pune

Pocket Pinch for 2: 2400 approximately (without alcohol)

Timings: 12 PM-12 AM

Must Try Dishes: Don’t forget to try out the newly launched “Born in the USA” Platters.

My experience: As we went in we were greeted by the manager Mr. Sumit who asked us where we wanted to get seated. There were both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements with separate smoking zone. We decided to sit outdoor because the weather was lovely. Few minutes later a guy came to us and introduced himself. He gave us the menu book and we decided to start with the cocktails. We ordered an “Ultimate Mojito” and a “Classic Signature Mojito”. Both the drinks had a perfect combination of lemon juice and soda topped with fresh mint leaves and ice cubes. The drinks were very refreshing.

For starters, we ordered “Half Roasted Cayenne Pepper Chicken”. The chicken pieces were well seasoned with different herbs and spices and was roasted to perfection with the cayenne pepper adding a spicy twist to the dish. It was served with crispy French fries along with a side of sweet pineapple sauce.

The chicken was roasted to perfection from outside while the inside was quite tender and juicy. The sweetness of the pineapple sauce complimented well with the spiciness of the cayenne pepper chicken. We also ordered “Ultimate Friday’s Nachos”. The Nachos were crisp garnished with fresh veggies and cheese, topped with a dollop of sour cream. We found its taste to be bland. However. the dish looked great.

Moving on, we ordered “Chicken Caesar Salad” which had shredded chicken tossed in tangy Caesar sauce and fresh Lettuce with a garnishing of Parmesan cheese served with  side of bread toast.

To quench our thirst, we ordered another round of cocktails. This time, I decided to go with “Ultimate Margarita” for me which was a regular margarita topped with fresh-cut lime and orange. The drink had excess lime which turned it very sour in taste. The guy ordered “Bourbon Smash”. The Bourbon Smash was a combination of Jack Daniels and cranberry juice, topped with lots of crushed ice, fresh lime and mint leaves.

Finally, it was time for the main course, first we ordered “Crispy Jalapeno Stuffed Chicken”. It came with crispy fried chicken topped with Jalapeno with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli au gratin. Though the chicken was quite crispy from outside but on the inside, it wasn’t so appetizing.

So, for the next order, we decided to give a break to chicken dishes and ordered “Alfredo Garden Fresh Pizza” which was the only veg item that we had there.  I personally loved the crispy thin crust pizza which came with lots of cheese topping with finely sliced zucchini, chopped chillies, basil and olives.

Next, we ordered a dish from their seafood menu, it was “Almond Crusted Fish and Jalapeno Shrimps”. This was my favourite dish among all. It came with almond crusted crispy sole fish fillet served with flavoured rice and a side of sautéed shrimp in a gravy of creamy jalapeno, garlic, red pepper and lemon-butter sauce.

Next it was time for the much-awaited dish, which Mr. Sumit and other staffs of TGI Friday’s recommended us. It was a dish from the newly launched “Born in the USA” menu. There were 3 platters on offer: “the Boss Platter”, “Chesapeake Bay Seafood Platter” and “the Texas Platter”. We ordered the “Texas Platter” and no doubt it was huge.

The platter consisted of Bacon wrapped in Shrimps in skewers, juicy sliced Fajita Tenderloin and fried chicken steak in country gravy served with garlic bread, corn cob with sides of TGIF signature sauces and Cajun Onion rings. One such platter can easily serve 3-4 people and the pocket pinch is between 1-2k which means when you go in a group of 4-5 people, it won’t be very heavy on the pocket but it’ll surly satisfy your hunger.

A meal is incomplete without deserts. So, we ordered a “Mini Dessert Platter” consisting of mini delights of Chocolate Oreo, Mocha Latte, Snickers Treat, Strawberry Parfait and Tropical Delight.

To end with we ordered “Pineapple Rum Cheesecake”. The cake was baked to perfection from outside giving it a slightly crisp outer coating and as we spooned in, the pineapple flavoured cheesecake literally oozed out.

After the cake, we had no place in our tummy accommodate any more food. We decided to ask Mr. Sumit to take us for a tour around the restaurant. Though it was a Sunday afternoon, we could see a lot of people coming in. Check out the pictures below to have an idea about the place.

We really liked the funky décor of the place. It was a Sunday well spent and we are looking forward to another visit there soon.

Final Verdict: We loved most of the dishes that we had there, right from the starters to the lip smacking desserts.  The service was also prompt. We’d definitely recommend everyone to check out this place and try out the variety of dishes on offer if you haven’t already. T.G.I. Friday’s, has 11 restaurants in India operating from noon to midnight, so come in anytime in between.

As a kid, I have often seen my mother applying foot care cream and wondered whether it is really something worth investing for. I have seen my mother suffering from cracked heels, no matter how much she tried to avoid it by through her natural remedies. At last, only a good foot care cream would come to her rescue. I would always ask her why don’t she get pedicure done regularly.  My take on the product:The Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream comes in a handy packaging. The cream comes in white tube with a dark green lid, it is easy to carry around in bag and application never gets messy. The cream has a mild fragrance which doesn’t bother my rather sensitive nose. The cream is lightweight and hence the application gets super easy.

The cream blends in my feet easily and it doesn’t feel sticky at all. I apply the Himalaya Wellness Foot Care Cream at night before going to bed. I wash my feet with warm water and  pat dry followed by applying this cream on my feet. When I started using it, my feet was in extremely bad condition but after regular application for a week, I could feel that the cracks have almost healed and my feet felt softer than before. I’m really happy with the result and I’ll stick to this cream every time I’ll get cracked feet.

Dear Blog,Happy 3rd Birthday……

Hello people…. I can’t believe I’m writing a blog post right now! As I check my blog every now and then, a sense of guilt engulfs me. I have been away too long, my sincere apologies to all my readers. The last time I wrote a post was around 3 months back. I was away all this time because I got busy with some personal work. I shifted to Pune from Kolkata, back in September,with a new job. All these time, I was trying to fit myself in the city, discover new places and make friends. Though I haven’t learnt much of Marathi yet, I’m already in love with the Pune weather!! I have a tight schedule on weekdays and on weekends I usually out to discover wonderful places in the city. I really felt guilty for not finding out time to blog, something that I’m passionate about.I would come back home dead-tired and doze off to sleep, I couldn’t write even though I wished to.

As my blog turns 3 today, I can say that I have got a lot because of my blog. I made so many blogger-friends, went to blogger meets and events, participated in blogging campaigns and every experience have been great. Since I was almost completely detached from blogging for a while, I’m yet to add bloggers buddies from Pune, so if any one of you reading this post today happens to be from Pune, do drop in a line and we can meet over a cup of “cutting chai” and a plate of “vada pav”.

Since I have a full-time job and few other commitments here and there, it might be slightly difficult for me to blog very often but I’ll do keep blogging, that’s for sure. Talking about blogging, that reminds me that I haven’t bought any makeup product since last 2 months and I really don’t know whether I should feel happy or sad about it. Well, that gives me a chance to save few bucks and get myself a MAC lippie that I have dreamed to buy since I ever got addicted to makeup. I hope I can buy one soon and review it here.

VLCC Enchanting Eyes Kajal Review, Price & Swatches

Hello girls, I hope you are doing well. Lately, due to work pressure in my office, I could hardly find time to blog and secondly, my  makeup these days is limited to kajal, lip balm and BB cream only. The only good thing that is happening is that I’m trying out different kajals for my eyes. I’m not very particular about brands these days when it comes to kajal, but I’m always in search of a decent kajal that gives me a smudge-free look without touch ups to survive during my office hours for days when I don’t get time to leave my workstation for a quick break.

Currently, I have been using the VLCC Enchanting Eyes kajal and I’m loving it so much that I decided to write a post about it.  I have used VLCC products before and I always had a bittersweet experience with them. My take on the product: The kajal comes in a retractable black pen like packaging with a golden rim in the middle. The packaging  ensures minimum product wastage and makes it easy to carry around. The price is decent and affordable too. Coming to the consistency, the kajal is soft and thus it can glide on very smoothly, it is easy to apply both on the waterline and on the eyelids. The shade is very dark and a single swipe is enough to give you beautiful looking kohl-rimmed eyes. The kajal can stay up to 5-6 hours after which it needs a minor touch up, however, this works much better than kajals from other drugstore brands.

Ir didn’t smudge or started to fade away when I accidentally washed my face once, which is why I’m loving it so much. I didn’t feel any irritation or watering after applying it daily, for a week which is why I believe that it is safe to use for all.The kajal can be removed with a makeup remover easily.

My Shopping Experience at Aplava.com

Hello girls, it’s been a long time since my last post. I haven’t been much active on social media too. The reason is I shifted to Pune recently and it is a wonderful place. I was really busy with packing, booking tickets, finding a flat to stay etc. Today, I can finally sit down with a cup of coffee and blog. Common skin problems in monsoon!!

Monsoon brings a sigh of relief after the scorching summer heat.
