Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Oh My Magenta Review, Swatches & LOTD

Hello girls….how’s life? I am feeling home sick for a while now. I will pack my bags and go home in few days to spend sometime with my family. The post, I am writing today was in my draft for over a month. I was too lazy to write a new post so thought of completing this one today. Almost all of us are well known to Colorbar Velvet Matte lippies and you guessed it right, I am reviewing one of the most preferred shade of the range- Oh My Magenta. I think, I am the last person to review it yet I wont mind praising this “oh so beautiful color” which is aptly name “Oh My Magenta!” Let’s see a quick review below:

What The Product Claims: For a rich lip color with a creamy shine, the Velvet Matte Lipstick, available in 45 stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with Vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvet Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

My take on the product: As the name suggests, Colorbar Oh My Magenta is a lovely magenta shade with neutral undertones.

This shade will flatter many skin tones. The lipstick comes in a round packaging with a see through bottom which I think is quite helpful to locate the shade you want. The cap is made up of transparent plastic which fits snugly.

Coming to the texture, these lipsticks have matte finish but does not makes lips dry. The lipstick glides smoothly on lips. It is safe to use a lip balm underneath to avoid any kind of discomfort.

Left- Single swipe, Right- 3 swipes

The pigmentation is awesome and the color stays on lips for almost 4-5 hours. It fades leaving behind a reddish- pink tint. The lipstick has a strong fragrance which I do not like. I am quite impressed with the texture and pigmentation of these lipsticks.

I have another lovely shade from this range which I’ll be reviewing sometime in future.

Pros: 1. Reasonably priced
2. Highly pigmented
3. Does not dry out lips
4. Stays for 4-5 hours.

Cons: 1. Fragrance might be a problem
2. People who do not like long wear lipsticks may not find it useful.

This lipstick has a matte finish yet it is very moisturizing on lips. It is a light wearable fuchsia shade and is suitable for every day wear. Stays on lips for 5-6 hours and fades leaving behind a nice tint. It will look good on all skin tones.

2. Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick #135

Price: INR 225
A lovely bright pink lipstick from Lakme satin enrich range. These lippies are good for those who are looking for lipsticks in budget. The lipstick has nice pigmentation and gives a creme finish to your lips. It stays for almost 3 hours. This color will look very flattering on dusky beauties.

3. L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Intense Fuchsia

Price: INR 785
This one is another wonderful fuchsia lipstick from L’Oreal Paris. A hot and funky fuchsia shade that would really make you the centre of attraction. The texture is creamy and it stays on lips for almost 5 hours. This color will look great on fair to medium skin tones.

4. MAC Girl About The Town

This is from amplified MAC creme lipstick range, bright pink in color with blue undertones. It has great pigmentation and stays on lips for almost 5 hours. It fades leaving behind a nice pinkish tint. It has a creamy texture which won’t make your lips dry. This shade will suit all skin tones.

5. Maybelline Superstay 14hr Lipstick in Infinitely Fuchsia

A beautiful fuchsia lipstick from Maybelline Superstay range. I love Maybelline products and their quality never disappoints me. This lipstick feels a bit drying on lips so it is recommended to use a lip balm underneath if you have dry lips. It stays for almost 6 hours on lips. This shade will look good on fair to medium skin tones.

My Favourite Five Blue Nailpolishes

When I was in early years of my school there were only few blue nail polishes available from local brands, I don’t remember Lakme having one back then. I got hold of a local made blue nail paint & I remember how much I loved the color & how I kept showing it to my friends. Use a base coat & top coat to make it last a little longer.

2. Lakme Fast & Fabulous Nail Paint in Aqua Blast

A true blue color from the Lakme Fast & Fabulous range. Sleek packaging, dries on nails fast (claims to dry up in 40 seconds) & has fine shimmer. Gives a glossy finish to nails.

3. L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Vernis 613 Blue Reef

A dark glamorous greenish blue nail paint that promises to stay 7 day  long. Nice applicator brush provides smooth glide of color on nails. It comes in a classy packaging with golden cap.

4. Revlon Nail Polish in Midnight Affair

A metallic dark blue shade with silver shimmers. This color will actually remind of midnight sky. Very classy & sophisticated color. Stays for 5-6 days without chipping.

5. Colorbar Nail Polish in Shade 19 – Exclusive

A bright blue shade with glossy finish. Stays decently for 5-6 days without chipping. The applicator brush is smooth & fine. This color will brighten up your hand instantly.
