Provide proper nutrition to your children to help them grow

The main concern of all parents are to see that their children growing up healthy. By being healthy, it doesn’t merely means being free from diseases but it also means growing up properly in height and gaining healthy weight. Proper increase in height and weight is an indicator that our children are getting  proper nutrition in their body required for their growth. For toddlers, it is really very important to see that they are getting the right amount of vitamins, minerals and proteins in their daily diet. The growth of children between the age of 3 years to 9 years is very critical. If care is not taken at this stage, it may lead to inadequate growth and weakness in children.

However, there can be a lot of reason for the lack of proper nutrition in children. Firstly, they are fussy eaters who can like a particular food at one time and plainly dislike it the very next moment. They tend to be picky and you may find them ignoring most of the food that are vital for their growth. Adding to it, there can be illness which might be affecting the growth of our children. This is the reason most parents are concerned about the proper growth of their children and sometimes even daily diet cannot fill up the nutrition gap in children.

Parents have to make sure that their children are physically and mentally fit. Panicking over poor growth  of children will only make things worse, rather parents should look for healthy supplements that can make up for the nutrition gap in the diet and give them proper nutrition. It is necessary to regularly monitor the height and weight of children up to 10 years of age to keep a track of the growth. As parents, we must make sure that our children are getting enough care and attention so that they can attain a proper growth with time and lead a healthy lifestyle. Keeping proper balance in life is very necessary if we want our children to grow up healthy and strong.

IndiBlogger Launches IndiPR.com to Help Businesses with Content Marketing

Blogging is fun. It brings out your creativity and you can also deliver something unique to your readers. Bloggers actually act as opinion leaders in many cases and influence you in more than one way. For all my blogger friends, we are well aware of press releases. Everyday, our inbox get flooded with so many press releases from different brands. Press releases help us to know about recent events and new launches by different brand. By sharing them on our blog, we help our readers to stay up to date with different brand activities too. But the only problem is, we bloggers, have no control on what type of press release we are being sent. For example, I have a beauty and lifestyle blog and I’m asked to post about a press release on the CSR activity of an organization, my readers wouldn’t be able to connect with it.

facebook-share

Indiblogger, a popular blogging community in India has recently launched IndiPR.com, that help businesses get their press releases published by top bloggers. All they have to do is to upload their Press Release and the ‘Automated Influencer Targeting Engine’, or ‘AITE’ feature, proceeds to accept applications and  then automatically shortlist bloggers based on various criteria including internal ratings and rankings. Once shortlisted, the influencers/bloggers do their research and publish their articles. One of the main issues that most marketers face when working with influencers/ bloggers is the cumbersome process associated with identifying and targeting each influencer. If your press release goes to the wrong person, chances are those will never get published. But IndiPR.com has made this task very simple. Bloggers can go through different press releases and apply to publish the one that will be relevant to their blog genre. In this way it saves time for both the marketers and influencers/bloggers.

RenieRavin, the Founder and CEO of IndiBlogger, says, “We believe that this system will help Influencers with fresh and new content on their site every day. In a way, you could be writing about the next Google without even realising its immense potential.” In the future, IndiPR.com will add new dimensions to the world of blogging. It will carry more than just Press Releases. Influencers will be able to get creative assignments, get invitations to attend the trendiest launch events and stay up to date to the latest news much before the rest of the world gets to know about them!

India and E-Governance

With the growth of information and communication technology, India has been quite successful in serving different parts of the country, especially in villages where people are mostly devoid of any significant development. In the past two decades, the Indian government took some major steps in improving their services towards the people. One such initiative is e-governance or electronic governance. It is the application of information and communication technology for delivering government services and to exchange information. Through e-governance, the government has tried to set up a strong connection with the citizens of India through a two-way communication process. The aim of the government is to make sure that the people are getting access to the services properly. The National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) has been formulated by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY) and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

The digitization of India and e-learning has been a major step by the government to carry out e-governance. Almost 72% of the total population in India comprises of villages. The use of broadband has helped in connecting people across the country, especially from remote areas and led to faster dissemination of information. It is a convenient method of learning which has helped in connecting the management, teaching faculty and students easily at very low cost and has provided transparency in learning. Equal opportunity to use to information is also provided regardless of distance barriers. Thus e-governance is playing a vital role in rural development.  Providing computer and internet facilities to every houses will help in further development and increase literacy rate by giving access to information and communication technology to everybody. The government also strives to provide better livelihood opportunities, providing basic amenities, development of healthcare facilities apart from educating people.

1

In the past two decades, the government has taken up many schemes to improve the standard of living in villages. Schemes like “Bharat Nirman” was developed to provide adequate water supply, housing facility, telecommunication and information technology, proper roads and electrification. In future, the government can promote sustainable development through e-governace by encouraging use of solar and wind and hydropower energy to produce electricity and using information and communication tools through them. This will save electricity and cut the high cost which in turn can be put to the development of the country. “Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna” is another step to improve the agricultural process and increase the yield. The e-governance provides services to stock owners and farmers by providing them information on crop selection, disaster management etc through centralized agricultural portal, kisan centres and mobiles. The project stresses on using information technology in all stages of  agricultural development. E-governance in next few years will connect farmers globally and give them the exposure to international markets. The introduction of e-dhara project for total computerization of land records has been very successful. The government has also tried to establish a public-private partnership wherever feasible. Services like banking, ticket booking through IRCTC online, use of e-post office services, checking status of PAN application and online application of passport and visa has helped in fast transactions and promoted paperless documentation. Aadhaar authentication and e- KYC (Know You Customer) has made the verification process much easier and helped people immensely.

2

Our Prime Minister, Shree Narendra Modi believes in development of India using latest technologies and  believes in the mantra of empowering India digitally. His project on digital India solely focuses on e-governance as a tool for development and education of the masses. To develop India, utilization of information and technology is necessary. To take his vision and mission further, Intel is committed to take forward the digital India mission and bridge the gap between rural and urban India.

Good Food, Good Life

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We should always have a hearty breakfast in the morning which is full of nutrients and energy. Skipping breakfast is not good idea as it leads to hyper insulin response when calories are consumed later. For someone like me, who spends most of their time outside the house with improper timings for lunch, a nutritious breakfast will keep our tummy full for long hours and give us the energy to start our day.

As I wake up in the morning, I do not get much time to cook. Hence, I always look out for easy breakfast options that can be prepared easily and is good for health. Kellog’s cornflakes is one breakfast item I swear by, most of the days. Experts say that cereals are ideal for breakfast as they are low in fat and high in fibre, minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates which is very much necessary for our body to work efficiently. Cereals are consumed with milk which is again, a great source of iron and helps to build our bones. But, eating a bowl of cornflakes with milk regularly for breakfast is really boring. So, I try to add some  variety to my breakfast and make it tastier. The Kellog’s Facebook page regularly updates me with many quick and healthy menus for breakfast.

My favourite recipe among them is Kellog’s “Nut-things”. The recipe is very easy and can be prepared in 10 minutes. All we need to do is to take a bowl of cornflakes and add milk to it. Sprinkle few raisins and chopped roasted almonds and hazelnuts and our breakfast is ready. This recipe is very tasty and nutritious too. This is not all, I love to eat cornflakes for snacks too. Here is another tasty recipe from their page which I have moderated a bit and turned it into a “chaat” instead of a salad. Add chopped onion, carrot, cucumber to cornflakes, sprinkle salt and black pepper and drizzle some lemon to it. The result is tangy and tasty “cornflakes-chaat” which is not only good to eat but is full of nutrition and low in fat.

My neighbour, Guptaji’s wife, Mrs. Gupta have tried out almost all the tasty recipes mentioned in the Kellog’s Facebook page. Guptaji has invited me for breakfast at his home, this Sunday. Mrs. Gupta told me that she will prepare some great breakfast dishes with Kellog’s cornflakes. I can’t wait to try them out. I’ll be happy if Mrs.Gupta includes the “walnut-cornflakes choco balls” and “chappati cornflakes chiwda” in the breakfast menu. She is aware of the fact that I am crazy about chocolate and I think she will surprise me with the dish.

I am looking forward to a lovely Sunday breakfast at Guptaji’s house, if you want, you can join me too!

How I #ChooseToStart My Smartphone Journey

Do you remember your first smart phone buying experience? I asked my dad to buy me a smartphone recently because the phone I was using had limited features. For me, buying a smart phone was not an easy decision. I made sure, I did a good research before buying a smart phone so that I can get a phone with all the features I wanted, like:

  • It should have a good battery life
  • Should take blur free and good pictures
  • Should have a good memory for storage
  • Must have an attractive and classy look

After much research, I settled with the handset “Moto E (2nd Generation)” from the brand Motorola. It has been more than a week since I am using the Moto E (2nd Gen) and here’s what I love about my smartphone:

motorola-moto-e-2nd-gen-xt1521-400x400-imae5yvnugydbf9d

Firstly, the reason behind buying a Motorola phone is that, my very first handset was from the same brand and it was a good phone in terms of performance and looked classy. I have used my first Motorola set for almost 3 years in a row without any problem so naturally I had high hopes from Moto E (2nd Gen) too. Secondly, the phone suits my budget. At Rs. 6999/- only, this phone is a real steal! Being a blogger, I have to stay connected to people on different social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. This phone has 8Gb internal storage and 32Gb expandable memory, which let me download loads of apps without any problem. I can switch apps without lag and its super fast 3g connectivity ensures that I do not miss a single notification.

Whenever I get bored, I simply plug in my earphones and listen to my favourite songs or play games. This phone offers me amazing sound clarity and awesome graphics so that I can get the best sound and playing experience. It has an amazing battery life that lasts the whole day. So when I am travelling, I do not have to worry about running out of charge even when I am using GPS for directions.

1

Being a beauty blogger, I have to take a lot of pictures. Many times when I do not have my camera with me, I use my Moto E (2ndGen) camera to click pictures and it has a decent picture quality of 5 megapixels. It also has a 0.3 megapixel front camera for selfie lovers like me. I also use it as a mirror for little touch ups.

I usually mess up things when I am in a hurry but thankfully, my Moto E (2nd Gen) has water-repellant coating and Corning Gorilla Glass which protects it from damage. The anti-smudge coating on the screen keeps the fingerprints away and keeps my phone looking great. Lastly, the phone has a curved and sleek design which makes it look classy and the rounded edges makes it easy to hold. I #ChooseToStart my style statement with my Moto E (2nd Gen) smartphone.

Still stuck deciding which smart phone to buy? Go ahead and give the new Moto E (2nd Gen) a try!

Best Friends Forever

I met my best friends 10 years back, in school. We used to sit next to each other in class, share our lunch boxes and play together. With her, everyday was full of fun . We were among the most talkative students in class and no matter how many times, the teacher changed our seats during the class, somehow we managed to sit together again! When we were in class vii, her father got transferred to Delhi and she had no choice but to leave the school and shift there. We promised each other to stay in touch regularly through emails, letters and calls. School was not the same without her. The excitement and fun were gone. I wrote letters to her on every second and fourth Saturdays and she wrote back to me on first and third Saturdays. This went on for a while and as time passed, I made new friends in school, so did she in her new school. Eventually the exchange of letters and phone calls became irregular from both the ends and by the time I finished my school, I had no contact with her for almost a year.

I decided to renew my contact with her and called her one day. A distant relative of my friend received the call and told me that she has shifted to Kolkata with her family few months back. I asked him, if he could give me any contact information. He gave me a phone number which I found was out of service. I was disheartened. I could only hope that someday she might miss me like I do and try to contact me. Meanwhile, I got admission to a college at Kolkata and I was happy about the fact that at least now I live close to her and if I am lucky enough, I might bump into her one day.

1

It was my first day in college, as I went inside, I saw a group of girls chatting among themselves, few boys looking around the classroom and few of them already dozing in their seats. I went inside and saw a vacant seat, I kept my bag on it. On my left was a serious looking guy with neatly combed hair and wore high-powered spectacles. On my right, there was only a bag and as it appeared to me, it belonged to a girl. Five minutes later, I saw a girl in blue top and black jeans entering the class and guess what, she was best friend from school! She saw me a bit later and as our eyes met, we couldn’t react or speak to each other for few seconds. The next moment we were hugging each other tightly and the class was staring at us wondering what’s wrong with these two girls. We went to the local coffee shop as soon as our class was over because we couldn’t hold the excitement.

We had lots of things to talk about. We apologized to each other for not keeping the promise of staying in touch. I told her how I missed her terribly in school and wished to meet her someday. She said that maybe we were supposed to get reunited this way. It was a great feeling to get reunited with my best friend after so many years. The bond we shared was so strong that destiny has brought us together again. I don’t remember exactly how many hours we spent at the coffee shop that day, all I remember was I got back my partner in-crime, my best friend and one of the most valuable person of my life that day.

I have got a chance to look up to my life with optimism and I know my best friend will be there forever to motivate and urge me for that.

Start a New Life

Being the youngest one in the family has its own perks. I am the youngest one in my family and I have an elder brother who was my partner in crime until I was in class 10. Soon after that he got a good job and settled abroad. We all were happy for him, but we missed him a lot during festivals because he could manage to come to India once in a year. Time passed and in two years, I found myself in a similar situation. I got admission to a good college far away from my hometown. I was excited and nervous at the same time, excited because I was finally going to join college and nervous because I have to stay away from my family.

As I broke the news to my parents, they were very happy and told me to shift to the new city as soon as possible and pursue my higher studies. I told them that I was a little nervous as I have never been away from home without them in these 18 years and now staying away from them all of a sudden seems so hard. It felt strange but my brother told me that it is just a phase that will pass and once I get a good job, I can buy my own house and bring them in so that they can stay with me. I made up my mind that I have to go the new place to complete my studies and get a good job. I have only one chance and I have to utilize it. My parents constantly motivated me and told me that I will learn to cope up with everything and every situation with time.

As I shifted to the new place, I got acquainted with many new people, made new friends. I learned to cook, wash and clean my room. I also learned to travel alone and paid bills alone. Now, I am more responsible about myself. I wake up at 6:00 a.m., clean my room, cook food, leave for college and do all types of works I never though I could manage to do alone. I do not have to depend on anybody to help me. I am thankful to God that I came across such a situation in life where I had to leave my home and accept a new change, settle in a new place with new people and surroundings. Staying away from home has boosted my confidence a lot and has given me the power to fulfill my dreams and make my way to a bright future. My parents are also proud of me and they are happy that I have shown the courage to accept new changes and make my life better. My hard work and self-confidence has helped me to get a good job and one day, I wish to buy a house and bring my family to stay in with me.

A Ray of Hope

Mankind is mortal. We may not get our loved ones beside us forever but the moment we spend with them stay in our heart as long as we live. Losing someone or something we love is very painful, but does that stop us from living our life? No, we have to move on and accept the bitter truth. Loss is never permanent, all the sorrows and pain that seems unbearable at a certain time will eventually be healed. Nobody should give up hope for the future because who knows, someone or something might bring a ray of hope into your life and change it forever…..

I can say this with confidence because I have come across similar situation in life where I was about to give up all hopes to live life when the most special person in my life gave me the ray of hope to live my life with confidence and make my way towards a better future. This incident happened three years ago, I had just appeared for my 12th board exams and in few moths I was about to join college. I took two-years consecutive coaching for medical entrance and I scored really well in mock tests. So, me along with my family were confident enough that I would make through the medical entrance exams and join a good medical college. As time passed, I focused more and more on my entrance preparations. I appeared in 2-3 medical entrances and unfortunately I couldn’t make through any of them. When I came to know that I couldn’t qualify for the third (and the last) entrance too, I was shattered. My parents were equally upset. Suddenly I found myself in the middle of nowhere. I haven’t applied for other courses in any college, neither I gave a thought about pursuing a different career other than MBBS. All through my life, my parents have been my backbone, they were always there for me and now when I have shattered their dreams, there was no one to hold my hand or support me during my hard time. I locked myself up in my room for almost a week and I didn’t spoke to anybody including my parents. The only time I came around them was during lunch or dinner. Time was passing by like this and I was mentally preparing myself to accept that I have to waste a year and reappear for medical entrance next year. One afternoon, while I was going through the pages of my entrance books, my mother came up to me and handed me an envelope. It was an approval letter from a mass communication institute where I had applied few month back! It went completely out of my mind as I was too busy preparing for medical.

index

My mom sat beside me and called my dad. I was scared thinking that my dad will get furious at me but what happened was exactly the opposite. My dad came up and read the letter. He asked me whether I really want to study mass communication or have applied for it casually. I told him that I have always wanted to study mass communication but I shifted my focus to medical entrance because he wanted me to become a doctor and by no means I wanted to upset him. He sat beside me and said ” What really matters is your happiness and your choice, after all it’s your life and you have the sole right to decide what to do with it. We are always there to help you and guide you when you need but the final decision is always yours. Yes, we were a little upset with your entrance result because we had high hopes but we never want you to sacrifice your choice just to make us happy. Follow your heart and make us proud!” Those few lines were enough to boost my confidence. My life, which seemed to me like a dark room with nowhere to escape few minutes back now seemed like a path filled with new opportunities. That was my moment filled with optimism and hope for future, a moment that has helped me to build my career, earn success and make my parents proud.

Share with me any of  your precious moment where you were filled with hopes for the future………..
