Lotus Herbals Claywhite- Black Clay Skin Whitening Face Pack Review

Hello all, how are you all doing? I’m back after the ‘Durga puja break’ though we have another important festival Lakshmi puja coming up in few days. I hope you all have enjoyed  the puja as much as I did. Soon we will be celebrating Diwali in few days. So you see, we have an array of festival lined up for the season. Today I’ll be reviewing a face pack from one of my favourite brand Lotus Herbals. It is a skin whitening pack consisting of black clay.

???????????????????????????????

Read on to know if this face pack is worth buying:

Price: INR 275 for 120g

Ingredients: Contains Methyl Paraben and Proplyl Paraben

What the Product Claims: Black Clay: Very rich in minerals and silica, helps to brighten facial complexion.

Bearberry Extract: Rich in Arbutin, helps to lighten complexion.

Liquorice Extract: Lighten facial complexion.

Method of Use: Wash your face with mild soap and blot dry. Apply a generous amount of Claywhite on face and neck, leaving eyes. Relax till completely dry. Rinse with fresh water. Follow with ‘Lotus Herbals Fairgel’.

My Take on the Product: The product comes in a cream-colored tube with a sturdy flip cap. The packaging is very user-friendly like every other products from the house of Lotus Herbals.

???????????????????????????????

The face pack has texture like that of clay since it is a black clay face pack. The face pack is easy to apply and spreads evenly though the consistency is on the thicker side. I like the color of the face pack, it is bluish grey in color and looks very different from other face packs I use, which are usually white, pink or yellowish :p.

???????????????????????????????

I don’t like the smell of this face pack and it smells somewhat like ‘Lacto Calamine’. I am using this face pack for over three months now but I haven’t seen any whitening effect on my skin yet. This face pack has a mixed effect on my skin, sometimes it works fine in a row of 2-3 uses and sometimes it gives me breakouts within a few hours of using it.

???????????????????????????????

I also feel a mild tingling sensation with the face pack on. Overall I feel this product is over priced and do not completely justifies what it claims to….

Pros: 1. Travel friendly packaging

2. Love the color of the  face pack.

Cons: 1. Overpriced

2. Does not whiten skin as it claims to

3. Causes occasional breakouts

4. I do not like the fragrance

My Rating: 3/5

Will I Repurchase It?: No, I will try some other face pack next time, suggestions are always welcome :)…..

Avon Naturals Tea Tree Oil & Green Tea Purifying Mask Review

Hello lovely people, sorry for being MIA for almost a week! I’m going through some health issues for some time now, I hope I’ll recover soon and get back to blogging regularly. Today I’ll be reviewing my current favourite face mask from Avon. This is my first skin care product from Avon, I usually buy their makeup products and like too as they are easy on pocket and come in a range of colors to choose from. Without wasting much of the time, let’s get straight about the product….

Price: INR 169 for 50ml

Ingredients: As mentioned in the back of the tube

Best Use Before: 3 years from the date of manufacture

Method of Use: Apply an even layer on face. Leave on for 10-15 minutes then peel off. Use 1 time a week

My Take on the Product: The product comes in a tube with a plastic flip cap which makes it travel friendly. Though I found the flip cap made up of cheap plastic and you need to be extra careful while opening it.

???????????????????????????????

The product has semi thick consistency and is milky white in color. The mask feels sticky on my hand and so on my face too. I use this mask twice a week. It works well in deep cleansing and removing dirt. My skin feels firmer with regular usage. The only problem is that, it makes my face very dry after use. I need to apply a moisturizer immediately after using the face mask.

???????????????????????????????

I so not apply a thick layer so I usually wash off the mask after 10-15 minutes post application, removing with water is a bit tedious task since the mask tends to stick on to my skin especially around my hairline.

???????????????????????????????

The mask has a wonderful fragrance unlike other tea tree products I’ve used so far which smells kinda weird :p. Overall this mask works okay for my skin but might be over drying on dry skinned beauties.

???????????????????????????????

Pros: 1. Nice packaging

2. Makes skin firmer with use

3. Deep cleanses

Cons: 1. Feels sticky on skin

2. Makes skin dry after use

My rating: 3.5/5

Will I recommend It?: Yes, of course, in  this price range, you can always give it a try!

Faces Sparkle Dust In Gold Review & Swatches

Hello everyone, how are you all doing?  I have a combination skin which tends to be on the oilier side in summers. So wherever I go in summer putting on my makeup, my face tends to get shiny in a couple of hours & I have to dab some pressed powder to control the shine. I never felt the need of a face highlighter yet i couldn’t resists myself to pick up one for me when I saw these tiny pots in Faces cosmetics counter in Kolkata. I took the help of the SA & somehow she convinced me to pick up the Faces sparkle dust in shade Gold. I bought it home and I seriously do not have any regret for the product, I’m loving it so far. Lets have a look at this product in details.

Price: INR 299 for 3.5g

What the product claims:

  • Faces Sparkle Dust Gold- with highly concentrated, shimmery, pigment loose color pigment is a finely milled powder made from mica
  • Use it alone to dress up your eyes or mix with an eye primer to achieve a dramatic pop of color that will make heads turn
  • The versatility of the product allows it to be used alone as a highlighter or mixed with your favorite nail polish to create many new shades

My Take On The Product: The product comes in a cute little plastic pot packaging. The pot is transparent so the color of the sparkle dust is visible from outside with a black cap. The packaging is travel friendly, I haven’t faced any difficulty while carrying it around like spilling out or transferring.

???????????????????????????????

The shade i picked up is a fine shimmery golden shade that would look wonderful on Indian beauties. Application can be little messy, since the product has a pot packaging there is always a chance of the product getting transferred on your fingers and face once the lid is opened. But as soon as you get familiar with the proper application technique, things won’t get messy anymore.

???????????????????????????????

The shade- gold, can be used over eye lids or as an highlighter or it can be also topped over nail polish to get a chic look.

???????????????????????????????

Though i haven’t tried it on my nails but it works great as an highlighter and also as eyeshadow. The shade is not too loud and has minimum fallout. It stays for 3-4 hours as a highlighter and looks great when photographed :). Overall, I am impressed with the texture, quality and color of the Faces Sparkle Dust in Gold!

???????????????????????????????

Pros: 1. Cute packaging

2. Good Color Payoff

3. Minimum fallout

4. Can be use multipurposely

Cons: I wish if the modified the packaging of the product a bit…

My Rating: 4/5

Will I Repurchase It Again?: I may try some other shades from this range.
