Maybelline Summer Essential Makeup Kit Review

Hello girls, so I’m posting about almost after a month. My job is keeping me too busy and I’m finding it hard to squeeze out some time to blog. However, today I’m here with the review of Maybelline Summer Essential makeup kit. We all are aware what cakey makeup could do to our face when the temperature is high. So should we give up on makeup during summer? Of course not! We can  wear minimal makeup and keep rocking in summer. Maybelline has come up with this wonderful summer essential kit that has few products which we can use daily and look fresh.

The makeup kit consists of:

• Maybelline White Superfresh Compact.

This compact is really very lightweight. It instantly brightens my face and doesn’t look cakey at all. The compact blends easily on my skin, controls oiliness and it comes in three shades to suit all types of Indian skin tone. It is priced INR 150 only! Read the complete review here

• Maybelline Colossal Kajal.

Almost all of us swear by this kajal and it needs no introduction. Easy to use, convenient to carry around, give dark and highly pigmented black color, glides smoothly and do not irritate the eyes. The best part is that it comes at a price of INR 200 only which is quite affordable and for me, one pencil lasts almost a month.

• Maybelline Baby Lips Lip balm in the shade Berry crush

Another product which I carry around in my purse all year round. Lip balms can be used any time. They make  our lips softer and prevents dryness. This lip balm comes with a protection of SPF2o and also gives a slight hint of color to the lips. The best part of this lip balm is the wonderful fragrance and the lipstick-like twist up tube which is very hygienic. The lip balm is priced INR 190. I have reviewed it long back here

Clean your face with a hydrating face wash and pat dry. Apply a lightweight moisturizer all over your face and neck. Apply Maybelline White Superfresh Compact, tight-line your eyes with the Maybelline colossal kajal, dab some lip balm and you’re ready to go.

All these products are my go to makeup products in summer and you can also wear it to your college or work everyday for a fresh and  summer ready look.

Maybelline White Superfresh 12HR Whitening + Perfecting Compact in Shell Review, Price and FOTD.

Hello girls, so winter is here and it calls for double laziness :p. Lately, I have not been using much makeup due to my busy schedule. All that I do now is to dab some compact, wear kohl and lip balm or lipstick and I’m good to go. Recently, Maybelline sent me their new range of super affordable compact for daily use and I am using it regularly now. It is time when I do a quick review on it, have a look:

Price: INR 150 for 8g

Features: A pure mineral with skin perfecting powders. Visibly lightens complexion while absorbing sweat and oil

• UV filters protects skin from skin lightening and damage
• 12 hour fair, fresh and prefect

Method of use: Apply all over face and neck with the puff provided, Blend well around he eyes, hairline and jawline, for a natural perfect-looking complexion. Dermatologist tested. Available in three shades and suitable for everyday use.

Shades available: Pearl (light to medium), shell (medium) and Coral (medium to dark)

My take on the product: This compact from Maybelline comes in a white round case with attached mirror and puff for application. The packaging is sturdy and I’m happy that they are providing a mirror for touch ups at this price.

I got the shade “Shell” which has yellow undertones and thankfully it matches well with my skin tone. By whitening, it doesn’t makes my face look ghost white but it instantly brightens up my complexion on application. The product has a powdery texture which is not very smooth but it blends well to give a medium coverage and gives a matte finish.

It stays up to 4 hours after which it needs touch up especially on my oily T-zone. The compact has a pleasant fragrance. It also claims to provide protection against the sun with its UV filters which is a bonus.

Overall it does a decent job of brightening the skin without making my face look white. Though there are only three shades in this range but I think they’ll suit majority of skin tones. Check out my first FOTD below :p

Recommendation: I’ll highly recommend this product to all since it works wonderfully for regular use and the price is super affordable.

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Collection REB02 and REB05 Lipsticks Review, Price, Swatches and LOTD

Hello girls, I am back with a lipstick post after a long time. Today I will be reviewing two lovely lipstick shades from the recently launched Maybelline Rebel Bouquet collection, one is a lovely universally flattering coral pink shade and another one is a lovely bright orange, which is neither too light and neither too bold, just the perfect shade of orange I was looking for!

Price: INR 450 for 3.9g

My take on the products: The lipsticks have same packaging as their Color Sensational range with steel colored bullet and the plastic cap similar to the color of the lipstick shade.

The packaging is sturdy and can be carried around with ease. The lipstick glides on lips easily and gives a sheer coverage on single swipe, however the color is buildable with multiple swipes. The lipstick gives a glossy finish when applied but settles into a matte finish after sometime.

The color stays on for 4-5 hours on me minus meals. The lipstick do not feathers or dries out my lips. The shade REB02 is a warm coral pink shade that will flatter Indian skin tones well.

It is a lovely pink shade and brightens up my complexion. The shade REB05 is an orange shade which I am in totally love with! I am wearing the shade almost daily. The color is bright yet not loud, gives a pop of color to my lips and surely is an eye catcher.

Overall, I am very impressed with Maybelline Rebel Bouquet lipsticks for their amazing shades and reasonable price range!

4. Does not bleed

Cons: I wish they did a different packaging for this range. The shades are otherwise difficult to recognize without check out the numbers.

Recommendation: Highly recommended to all the girls looking for bright and summery shades to try out this season.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in Keep Up The Flame Review and NOTD

Hello girls, I hope you all are doing great. With wedding season coming up, we cannot think of any color better than red. It has been very long since I posted anything  on nail paints and some of my lovely blog readers have requested me to review nail paints on  the blog too, so here I am with a review of a lovely red nail paint from Maybelline India’s Color Show range. The name of the shade is “Keep Up The Flame” and it is a gorgeous shade to rock this wedding season and definitely one of the best budget buys.

Price: INR 75 for 6ml

What Maybelline Claims: Stay right on trend from your tips to your toes with new Maybelline Color Show. Our gel based formula with color popping pigments, comes in 40 bold, super stylish shades that look great on nails. So go on, mix, match and make the most of color.

My Take on the product:The product comes in a cylindrical tiny bottle with a transparent body and a black cap. The shade name and number is indicated on the top as shown below.

The shade “Keep Up The Flame” is a bright red shade with  orange undertones and will flatter Indian skin tones. The shade goes opaque on single application however two coats will give your nails a bright hue.

The shade is glossy with no hint of shimmer in it. The brush glides easily on nails and is very easy to apply. The staying power of these nail paints is almost 4-5 days after which it slowly starts chipping off from the edges.

Anyways, I managed to log in today and I am here with the review of a lovely gel eyeshadow from the house of Maybelline. The name of the shade is “Tenacious Teal”, so you can guess by the name how beautiful the shade is….

This is my first ever gel eyeshadow and I was skeptical while buying it because I thought it would look too loud on me, but somehow I went on and purchased it and I fell in love with this eyeshadow within a few uses. Method of Application: Use fingertip to apply Color Tattoo eyeshadow over lids and blend well.

My Take on the Product: The product comes in a little pot like packaging with transparent body and a black screw lid.

The product is travel friendly and will fit in a coin purse even! The name of the shade along with the serial number is mentioned on the top of the lid. The shade “Tenacious Teal” is a vibrant blue shade that will flatter any skin tone.

This shade is great to complement party look and will instantly add a pop of color to your eyes. Coming to the texture, it is smooth and creamy making it easy to apply on lids. I usually skin primer while applying this to my lid since the shade is very pigmented but you can always apply a primer to make it last longer.

Staying power is good and the shade hardly fades out. Application is done best with finger tips however too much of the product leads to uneven application so it is advised to apply less amount and gradually build up the shade as per your need.Overall This is a lovely eyeshadow and I am very happy that I went forward and purchased it. Here is an EOTD below, sorry for the uneven application, I did it in a hurry.

Hello peeps, I’m back with another online shopping experience, this time with flipkart.com. I got a gift voucher of Rs.500 from dealstan blogging contest and as expected, I headed straight to flipkart’s beauty category. I always wanted to try a gel eyeliner so i chose Maybelline lasting drama gel liner in black and as there was still 50 bucks left, I added some more amount to it and ordered Maybelline hyper curl volume express mascara.

Both the items came in perfect condition and were securely wrapped. On receiving the orders,I received another mail and text message confirming the delivery. Here are the pics below.

 

Sorry, I forgot to click  pictures of the second package containing the mascara as my exam was going on. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and will love to shop with them again.

A 100% vegan kajal made of all natural ingredients. This kajal is enriched with camphor and almond oil. Almond oil keep eyes naturally healthy and camphor prevents all types of eye infections. The kajal has a conical shape, glides like a dream on eyes and staying power is almost 4 hours.

My Favourite Five Blue Nailpolishes

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? Don’t you love blue nailpolishes? When I was in early years of my school there were only few blue nail polishes available from local brands, I don’t remember Lakme having one back then. I got hold of a local made blue nail paint & I remember how much I loved the color & how I kept showing it to my friends. Thank god,now most of the cosmetic brands have blue nailpolishes & each of them are unique & beautiful in their own way. Today I’ll list my favourite 5 blue nail polishes in this post.
