Hello all, how are you all doing. Sorry for being MIA for a while. My mom is visiting me in Kolkata and I am enjoying her company to the fullest. Anyways, I found some time to write down today and I am so happy to get back to blogging again! Today’s post will be focusing on some easily available home remedies to treat skin rashes which is very common to people with sensitive skin but it may equally occur to all skin types due to various reasons. Usually rashes are allergic reactions to foreign objects that comes in contact with our skin.


To cope with it we can always rely on some immediate and safe home remedies before we consult a doctor. Let us see what are those items, below:

1. Apple Cider Vinegar


Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-fungal agent that relieves itching caused from rashes and infections. Take few drops of raw apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and apply to the affected area. Alternatively, a few drops can also be added in your bath water for relief from constant itchiness.

2. Basil leaves


Fresh basil leaves has anti- itching compound called thymol which is great during rashes. Crush fresh basil leaves and apply on the affected areas. Leave till they dry up. Basil leaves come with other great health benefits too and regular consumption can help to keep up good health.

3. Aloe Vera


Aloe vera is great for sunburnt and irritated skin. It soothes skin and keeps itchiness at bay. Cut open an aloe vera leaf and apply the gel oozing out from the leaf. The extra gel can be stored in an airtight container for a week.

4. Oatmeal


Oatmeal has avenanthramides popularly believed to reduce inflammation. It is used in some culture to treat eczema.. Make a paste with oatmeal and water and apply on the affected area for effective results. Use at least two times a day.

5. Turmeric


 Turmeric is widely used in India for its numerous health and beauty benefits.  Turmeric is used to cure eczema due to its antibacterial and anti-allergic properties. Turmeric contains curcumin that  helps in healing skin disorders easily without any side effects.

Five Things From Your Kitchen For Quick Tan Removal

Hello guys, hope you all are doing great. With festive season coming up I’ll try to come up with skin care remedies as often as I can. When festive season is around the corner, what worries me most is suntan. Suntan is something that is unavoidable for a student like me where I have to go out often in the sun, no matter how much sunscreen I use.


During this time homemade face masks and face packs come to my rescue. Today I’ll be sharing some home remedies for quick tan removal and all the ingredients listed here are easily available in our home. Have a look at them below:


1. Yogurt


For me, yogurt works best on suntan. I can see the difference in my skin color after 2-3 uses. Mix 2 tablespoons of yogurt with 3 table spoons gram flour and few drops of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on your face neck and all the exposed area of your body. Leave on for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with water. You will definitely notice the difference in two weeks.

2. Potato


Peel potatoes and blend them in a blender to make a thick paste, add few drops of lemon juice and rose-water to it. Apply this mixture all over the exposed parts of your body, leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off with water. Do this twice a week for best results.



Cucumber juice is another great way to reduce suntan as well as to soothe skin. cucumber is rich in vitamin C that helps to restore skin’s moisture and the cooling effect it provides helps to get rid of itchiness and redness caused due to overexposure to the sun.

4. Milk Powder


Milk powder when added with honey and rose-water can create a perfect face pack for tan removal. Milk powder and honey helps in making your complexion fairer and skin tighter. Use this pack once a week to get rid of suntan easily.

5. Red Lentil (Masoor Dal)


Grind red lentil in a fine paste and add 2 tablespoons of fresh tomato pulp with it. Apply this mixture to get a fairer skin and remove tan easily. tomato acts as natural bleaching agent and helps to brighten complexion. red lentil paste is a great natural exfoliant and will help to remove dirt from skin easily. use this pack twice a week for effective results.

Home Remedies for Skin Lightening

Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well. With different types of fairness creams, fairness masks & other similar products raving the market, people are getting more drawn towards the craze of getting fair skin. Getting fairer skin is nothing more than a myth. Fairness products are specially formulated to reduce skin color immediately but they may cause tanning in the long run.


Fairness products are harmful for skin as they decrease melanin production thus increasing the risk to skin cancer. In this post I will tell you about few skin lightening home remedies. They are safe, economical & have no side effects. Read on to know about them:
1. Milk Cream & Saffron Face Mask
Milk cream is rich in Lactic acid which has skin lightening property along with saffron. They are good for your skin, make your complexion even & keep your skin nourished too. Take 3-4 strands of saffron easily available at market. Soak it in milk cream & keep it aside for 6 hours. After 6 hours, apply this mixture to your face. Keep this on for 20 minutes. Wash it off with water. Use this face mask twice a month for best results.

2. Gram Flour & Turmeric Face Pack
Gram flour acts as a good natural cleanser. Turmeric helps to brighten complexion & it has antiseptic properties too. Min 2 table spoons of gram flour to turmeric paste & apply this mixture on your face. Leave on for 10 minutes & then wash it off with water. Regular usage of this face pack will help you to achieve a lighter complexion.


3. Dried Orange Peel & Curd Face Pack
Take dried orange peel & make a powder by grinding them. Mix 2 table spoons of curd to this mixture & apply it to your face. Massage gently in upward direction for 5 minutes & wash it off with water. This scrub helps to remove dead skin cells which is a main reason for skin dullness hence the skin appearing darker that it actually is. Curd is an excellent tan remover. Use this scrub in every alternate day to help remove dullness
4. Honey & Almond Face Pack
A mixture of almond paste & honey can help you to get lighter complexion instantly at home. Almonds are rich in Vitamin E & honey helps in making skin smoother & fairer. Prepare a paste with almond & honey & apply it on your face. Keep it for 10 minutes & wash off with water.

5. Lemon Juice
Lemon is rich in Vitamin C & acts as natural bleach. Lemon can be used directly on face or mixed with few drops of rose water & dabbed on face with a cotton ball. It is great for skin lightening & suits every type of skin.


6. Tomato & Honey Face Mask
Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C & help to lighten skin color along with shrinking large skin pores, cut tomato to slices & mash it. Mix it with 2 table spoons of honey & apply it evenly on your face. Keep it for 10 minutes & wash off with water.

7. Papaya Face Pack
Papaya is rich in Vitamin A & C & certain enzymes that works on sunburns & helps to brighten complexion. Cut papaya into slices & add sandalwood powder to it. Mix this with rosewater & make a thick paste, apply it on your face & keep it for 20 minutes after which you can wash off with water.

8. Cucumber Face Mask
Cucumber has cooling effect on skin & it is proved to lighten skin tone too. Cut cucumber into slices & apply it on your face & neck or alternatively you can blend it in a blender & mix it with honey to apply it on your face.


9. Coconut Water
Coconut water is good to lighten skin tone & bring natural glow to the face. You can dab coconut water directly on your face using cotton ball. Applying coconut water regularly is very effective in skin lightening.

10. Oatmeal & Yogurt Face Scrub
Ground oatmeal is a natural scrub that helps to exfoliate skin well. Yogurt is a rich source of Lactic acid & helps to even out complexion. Mix 2 table spoon of ground oatmeal to 2 tablespoons of yogurt & make a thick paste. Apply it on your face & neck. Massage for 5 minutes, leave on for another 10 minutes & wash it off with water.
