  • Blueberries act as stress busters. so next time, something is worrying you, chill with a bowl of blueberry :p
  • Blueberries are rich in antioxidants like all other berries and reduces signs of aging and keeps you looking young. Blueberries nourishes the skin from within keeping it glowing and healthy.


  • Blueberries are very less in calories so they can be included in your diet  to reduce obesity. They are also high in fibers and helps in digestion and also checks blood sugar level.
  • Researches have proved that blueberries can prevent colon cancer if consumed regularly.  Blueberries also reduces the bad cholesterol level in  our body and reduces the chances of heart attacks and strokes.


  • Blueberries prevent hair greying and improves hair growth. Blueberry consumption release harmful toxins from the body too keeping skin spot free.
  • Blueberry scrub recipe: Mash few blueberries, to it add oats and 2 table spoons fresh yogurt. Mix well and apply this mixture on your face and massage in circular direction. Wash off after 5 minutes for a refreshed and tighter skin. Use twice a week.
  • Blueberry face pack:  Mash blueberries, mix it with 2 table spoons of honey, little milk apply it all over your face and neck. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. Use regularly for visible results .

Five Physical Activities To Reduce Stress

Hello all, we all get stressed at one point of the time or the other due to heavy workload or taking too much tension. Stress is very harmful for mind and body and can affect both. Being stress free helps us to meet our goals faster and make our work much easier thus leading a less complicated life. A stress free lifestyle is  what we need to cope up with our surroundings and situations. To lead s stress free life, regular exercise is necessary.


Exercise is a great natural way to reduce stress and additionally it keeps our body and mind healthy and fit. Let us look at some exercises below that will reduce stress:

1. Aerobics



Aerobic exercises are high energy exercises that increase the heart rate which in turn leads your body to release endorphins that helps you feel good both physically and mentally. Aerobic exercises may include cycling, running, dancing etc. It is better to consult a doctor before starting high energy workouts. Pregnant women, people with heart problems and aged people should avoid aerobics.

2. Yoga



Yoga is practiced in India for ages as an effective form of meditation. It included a series of postures accompanied by deep breathing. Yoga helps to rejuvenate your mind and body, reduce stress  and also cure pains. Yoga helps to increase concentration and could be  practiced by everyone.

3. Kickboxing




Kickboxing includes controlled kicking and punching movements. It is a form of rigorous workout. Regular practice helps to improve coordination, control movement, flexibility and reduce stress. It helps to work out frustration thus helping to kick away tension and anger.

4. Pilates



Pilates is named after Joseph Pilates who is credited with the method of mat exercises and series of controlled movements often associated with this form of exercises. Pilates helps to promote focus, circulate proper oxygen flow in the body, tone up your body, burn fat and also reduce stress to great extent. Pilates also improves body’s flexibility.

5. Tai Chi (Spelt Tie-Chee)



Tai Chi, which evolved as an ancient Chinese technique of self-defense, later evolved as a form of exercise that include series of movement performed in a slow and focused manner accompanied with deep breathing. Tai Chi could be  practiced by people of all ages since it puts minimum stress on muscles. It is said to be a form of meditation in motion with the use of flowing movements.

Five Foods You Need To Eat For a Healthy Heart

Hello everyone, I just realized that I have done posts on beauty and makeup for past few days. Since this is also a health blog, I won’t do injustice to it. Here’s presenting a healthy and useful post for all my blog readers. With fast changing world, our lifestyles have changed from good to worse. We are always in search of ready to eat and quick fix foods. this leads to obesity which affects out heart.


Include the below listed food in your diet to keep your heart healthy and stay fit:

1. Oats


Start your breakfast with oats, it is one of the healthiest breakfast option and is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Oats are rich in soluble fibres that can bring down LDL or bad cholesterol level. Eat a bowl of oatmeal with milk every morning to kick-start your day. You can also opt for cookies containing oats for light snacks. For dinner you can prepare oats porridge too.

2. Soyabean


Soya beans are available as chunks and granules in local market. You can always prepare soya aloo sabji ( soyabean potato curry) for lunch or dinner. You can also prepare soyabean vadas ( soyabean  fritters) for light snacking.

3. Tomatoes


Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin K and can lower the risk of heart diseases. Tomatoes are widely used in Indian dishes, you can also eat it raw in the form of salads before meal.

4. Almonds


Almonds are rich in Vitamin B, Vitamin e, magnesium and iron and can keep your heart healthy if consumed daily. Start your day with few almonds in the morning.

5. Spinach


Since childhood spinach has been the ultimate good food for us, popularized by our childhood cartoon “Popeye.” In fact, spinach is great source of iron and rich in dietary fibres. Eat spinach in salads or  make spinach-cottage cheese curry for lunch or dinner.

Five Fruits That Will Keep You Cool In Summer

Hello everyone, first, I would like to apologize for being a little irregular in my blog. I have exams coming up so I have to slow down a bit for a while. Rain has finally arrived in Kolkata and I can not express in words how much relieved I am feeling right now! The only way to tackle summer heat is to keep yourself hydrated as much as possible.


De-hydration is a common problem in summer and it can happen with any one of us. Today I’m going to list five fruits that will keep you cool in summer. Fruits are light, healthy and full of nutrients. Let’s have a look at them below:

1. Water Melons


Water melons are mainly constituted of water. A water melon contains about 92-93% of water. Water melons are alkaline fruits rich in Vitamin A and C and is said to act as diuretic too. Water melon is an excellent thirst quencher. They are also rich in antioxidants. A fruit salad in summer is incomplete without delicious  cubes of water melons in it.

2. Pineapples


Pineapples contains an enzyme called bromelian that can digest both protein and fats. Pineapples are widely consumed to cure intestinal ailments. Pineapples are also consumed to cure arthritis because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Pineapples are rich source of Manganese which helps in our bone growth. Include pineapple in your daily food to stay healthy.

Mangoes are known as the “king of fruits” in India and I’m sure all of us know more than one way to relish this juicy fruit.

5. Lychees


Lychee or litchi grows extensively in China but they are cultivated in many parts of India too. These are fruits have white flesh with a big brown seed. Lychee is rich in Vitamin C, Phosphorus, Copper and Potassium. These fruits keep our body temperature cool and should be consumed daily in summer. Lychee juice is very popular and perfect for summer months. Lychees have medicinal properties and they are being used in Chinese medicines.

Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well. I’m not a vegetarian but I can never deny the fact how vegetables are useful for our health. One such important vegetable is bottle gourd also known as “lauki”, “ghiya” or “doodhi” in India. Bottle gourd has numerous health benefits and should be consumed often. It is considered as a natural thirst quencher. Here are few necessary things you need to know about this vegetable.

What is bottle gourd?


Bottle gourd traces its origin from South Asia. It is a greenish, long, slender squash. It consitutes of 90% water and hence is easy to digest. It is also rich in magnesium, phosphorus, riboflavin, Vitamin A and C.

How does it benefit our body?


1. Bottle gourd is effective in reducing high blood pressure. It is also popularly used in treating urinary problems like inflammation of urinary tract by diluting the acid content present in urine.

2. Bottle gourd juice is great for weight loss. As bottle gourd is mainly composed of water, its consumption makes us feel full for a long time. Bottle gourd is a low calorie food. Consuming a glass of lauki juice early morning keeps hunger at bay.

3. Bottle gourd is rich in fiber & helps to check constipation. Fibers are present in both soluble and insoluble forms which helps to digest food in the digestive system. It also check the occurance of piles.

4. Bottle gourd is believed to check liver inflammation due to its cooling properties. Bottle gourd is also used to treat jaundice.

5. Replacement of lost fluids in the body. Due to the presence of water and other necessary nutrients in bottle gourd, it is used to treat diarrohea.

6. Regular consumption of bottle gourd leads to clearer and problem free skin. It is also beneficial to get a beautiful hair as it prevents premature greying of hair.

How to make bottle gourd juice?


Cut a bottle gourd into pieces, put it in a blender along with a pinch of salt and cumin seeds. Add little water to this and blend it for 5 minutes. Lauki juice is ready to drink. Have it early morning in empty stomach everyday.
